About us

Gerardushoeve

At Gerardushoeve, craftsmanship and sustainability are key. Our ingredients come from local farmers and producers, who work with passion and care to produce high-quality products. From the land to the plate, discover the route of our suppliers below

Camping Oosterberg

The Lakenvelder is a rare and pure breed of cattle that has been genetically unchanged for 800 years. At Camping Oosterberg, these cattle graze in family herds on their own land, ensuring a stress-free life and meat of exceptional quality. Due to their slow growth and unique marbling, they provide high-quality meat, recognised as slow food. Together with Gerardushoeve, they contribute to the preservation of this special breed.

Geulhof fish ponds

Trout Fish Ponds Geulhof raises trout in pure spring water, an essential element for fish quality. Here, trout are carefully processed, smoked and filleted, with certified beech wood for a deep flavour. Besides rainbow trout, they also offer salmon trout, which is given a pink colour by special feeding. Thanks to sustainable processing, residual products are reused in cosmetics.

Kuusj

At Kuusj, pigs live as nature intended. They move freely through fields, meadows and forests and play an important role in a healthy ecosystem. Their slow growth and natural diet create meat with a deep, rich flavour. Moreover, every part of the pig is utilised: from bones for broth to fertiliser for the fields.

Saint Martin

Sint Martinus has been working on high-quality, sustainable wine since the 1970s. By choosing resistant grape varieties such as Souvignier Gris and Cabernet Cortis, they reduce pesticide use by 70-80%. Residues from wine production are given a second life in body care or compost. The vineyard runs on recycled water and geothermal heat, and even old brie barrels are reused as furniture.

Pure Flavour

Puur Aroma, the southernmost nursery in the Netherlands, grows more than 100 different herbs organically. Without artificial fertilisers or pesticides, the herbs grow more slowly, resulting in a more intense flavour and higher nutritional value. Thanks to this natural growing method, valuable plant substances such as salvestrols are preserved, contributing to a sustainable and healthy diet.

Butcher's shop Kusters

Butchery Kusters ensures that every animal is treated with respect. On a small scale, they slaughter cattle, lambs and game, ensuring an animal-friendly process and traceability. This results in honest, tender meat of top quality. The short food chain supports the region and ensures transparent sourcing.

Gulpener

Gulpener opts for local and sustainable ingredients and works exclusively with raw materials from the region. They work together with 30 farmers and grow their hops in Reijmerstok. Residual flows from the brewing process are reused by bakers and farmers as raw materials or manure, so nothing goes to waste.

Their energy-efficient brewhouse uses 75% less energy, and with the innovative STEAMpump, they save 60% of energy and 45% of CO₂ by reusing waste heat. They aim for fossil-free beer by 2030. They also brew the speciality beer Gerardus - blonde, double and triple - with the same sustainable vision.
